Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.

A different lens?
How does life look through the 'pleasure, passion and purpose' lens?
We should be devoting our efforts to working on some higher purpose. Pleasure is not sustainable. Happiness from passion is more sustainable, but happiness from altruistic higher purposes will last for a long time. However, we need to know what our own higher purpose is. When we know that, working towards it becomes its own reward.
Discovering values and higher purpose
From the 'discovering values and higher purpose' exercise:
What are your core values?
Good health and well-being, appreciation of the natural world, reliability and trustworthiness, honesty and integrity, lifelong learning, creativity, intelligence and mental agility, reflecting.
What do you stand for?
Curiosity and learning, helping others reach their potential, the power and joy of nature, freedom, peace, respect, positivity, loyalty.
Resilience
How did you find the resilience ideas and meditation exercise?
While reflecting on past failures is not pleasant, there is something to be said for getting rid of negative thoughts and emotions.
Final thoughts
Any other musings?
As I’ve already alluded to in another blog, the ideas around flow and peak performance are not new to me. I’m always interested in reading more about these topics and looking to how I can set up conditions to encourage them—both in my own life and for the students that I teach.
