Half an hour’s meditation each day is essential, except when you are busy. Then a full hour is needed.

Process Over Product
How did the ‘process over product’ concept affect the way you tackled the site redesign and rebuild?
In the past, I’ve been guilty of focusing all my attention on the finished product. This has meant working inefficiently and throwing time at the product until it’s as I want. This time I have stopped having gone through the redesign process, but with a product that still needs more work. However, I know that when or if I do something similar again, it will be much faster, and I’ll be more productive because I have that experience. When you’re learning as you go, things seem to take a lot longer, however.
Meditation
What did you think about meditation before reading chapter 2?
After the previous chapter on emotional intelligence, one of the resources I’ve embraced has been the Headspace app on my iPad. It changed my thoughts about meditation: I’m discovering the benefits of just taking time to step back and let everything go for a few minutes each day.
What new things have you learnt about meditation?
Meditation is just mental training
Meta-attention is the secret to concentration
Happiness is a default state of mind
Meditation is exercise for the mind
There is no such thing as bad meditation
Mindfulness meditation: Breathing as if your life depends on it.
Did any of the suggested meditation techniques stand out to you?
Not particularly as I feel I’m already doing much of this.
Any other musings?
The reason why I’m enjoying the Headspace app is that it’s good to have a guide.
